CHCI’s 37th Annual Awards Gala will conclude with another amazing Entertainment Finale — the ultimate ending to an exceptional evening that celebrates the Latino community, while raising critical funds for CHCI programs. This year’s Gala entertainment performers, the multiple Grammy Award–winning Chicano rock band Los Lobos, will combine musical elements from across the Americas in perfect harmony for a rocking good show as they celebrate their 40th anniversary! The band will be treating audiences to the sounds of classic Los Lobos tunes, some material from their new album Disconnected in New York City, and traditional songs from Latin America, including Colombia, Puerto Rico, Cuba and Mexico.
Since they began in 1973, Los Lobos have evolved into a respected artistic entity touching on themes and topics that are an interpretive pulse of our times. Using musical molds built on the blues, rockabilly, jazz, Latin and their own Mexican-American heritage, Los Lobos have never beat their fans over the head with politics or agendas. Instead, they subtly challenge them with conscience-raising songs and thought-provoking lyrics. Their music is sure to invigorate the soul as only Los Lobos can.
