Celebrate the Official Start of Hispanic Heritage Month and Register Now for CHCI’s Star-Studded Events
Join thousands from around the country and across the globe in Washington, D.C. for the nation’s premier events commemorating Hispanic Heritage Month (HHM) — CHCI’s Public Policy Conference, Reyes of Comedy, and Annual Awards Gala. For nearly 40 years, CHCI has achieved its mission of Developing the Next Generation of Latino Leaders® through our three pillars of success: EDUCATE, EMPOWER, and CONNECT. This year’s theme – Powering Growth and Influence – will address the integral role that Latinos play in shaping our nation’s future.
CHCI’s events will start with the annual Public Policy Conference, which gathers federal and local elected officials, corporate and nonprofit leaders, and supporters to discuss the major policy issues affecting the Latino community and the nation. Key topic areas include: education, STEM, economy and workforce, labor, health, immigration, and more. This year, CHCI will also host a Presidential Candidates Forum where guests will hear firsthand the candidates’ visions for our nation.
The week’s events will draw to a close on Thursday, October 8, with the 38th Annual Awards Gala, featuring renowned actress and celebrity emcee Roselyn Sanchez. During the ceremony, CHCI will present its 2015 Medallion of Excellence Awards to NFL hall of famer Anthony Muñoz and education advocate Sonia Gutierrez. Both honorees exemplify service, excellence, and a firm commitment to the Latino community. The event will also feature special performances by the Brooklyn Youth Chorus Men’s Ensemble and Grammy Award–winning band La Santa Cecilia, who will bring the evening festivities to a close during the Gala Entertainment Finale.
HHM is celebrated every year in the United States from September 15 to October 15. To commemorate this important annual celebration of the Latino community, CHCI convenes more than 4,000 attendees from across the country at events held in Washington, D.C.
