World-renowned, award-winning chef and restaurateur José Andrés will receive the CHCI Chair’s Medallion Award and actor Roselyn Sánchez will be awarded the CHCI Excellence in Service Award on October 8 in Washington, D.C. These two power-house Hispanics represent the best in our community and power growth and influence through their work, their convictions, activism, and giving back to the next generation. Sánchez, who will serve as celebrity host at the CHCI’s 38th Annual Awards Gala, will be honored at our exclusive Board of Director’s Luncheon that officially launches CHCI’s gala festivities. Andrés will be honored at CHCI’s annual awards gala later that evening. Both events are part of CHCI’s Hispanic Heritage Month landmark events that bring together the top Latino leaders in the country.
“We are honored to recognize José and Roselyn for their dedication to improving the lives of Latinos throughout the country, their courage to combat hate speech, and for serving as exemplary role models for the Latino community,” said Esther Aguilera, CHCI President and CEO. “We are also excited to have Roselyn serve as celebrity host at this year’s Awards Gala.”
Along with the Gala, CHCI’s Hispanic Heritage Month Events include its Public Policy Conference and Reyes of Comedy. All events support CHCI’s educational attainment and leadership development programs.
